An iconic house finds new life with a

historical society.

CHALLENGE

The Galena-Jo Daviess County Historical Society became the new stewards of an historic house that had undergone numerous additions and alterations and sought to understand the construction history of the site in order to activate the building and further the historical society’s mission.

SUCCESS

New History worked with Minneapolis-based MSR, volunteers and staff of the Galena-Jo Daviess County Historical Society, and the Jeffries Family Foundation to develop an Historic Structure Report to aid in the reactivation of the nationally-designated property.
