An iconic house finds new life with a

historical society.

CHALLENGE

The Galena-Jo Daviess County Historical Society became the new steward of a historic house that had undergone numerous additions and alterations. The team sought to understand the construction history of the site in order to activate the building and further the historical society’s mission.

SUCCESS

New History worked with Minneapolis-based MSR Design, volunteers and staff of the Galena-Jo Daviess County Historical Society, and the Jeffries Family Foundation to develop a Historic Structure Report to aid in the reactivation of the nationally-designated property.
