Donna Weiss
Principal

Donna brings more than 25 years of preservation experience to New History, along with a passion for historic architecture and an extensive technical expertise. Her specialty is building pathology—the assessment of historic building conditions and the specification of appropriate repair treatments. Central to this work is identifying character-defining features and clearly communicating them to the broader project team.

Donna's work often involves navigating state and federal tax credits, securing grant funding, and coordinating with local, state, and national agencies, including the National Park Service. Her approach combines technical skill, thoughtful project management, and a strong understanding of restoration costs.

She provides a wide range of services, including as-built drawings, condition assessments, design guidelines, historic structure reports, intensive surveys, materials analysis, National Register nominations, preservation and restoration plans, specifications, and tax credit applications.
